About The Facility
HVH is a Hanoverian producing farm with an Elite Hanoverian brood band and an excellent herd of young dressage prospects ages foal through well under-saddle. HVH specializes in the training of these young dressage horses via the unique HVH training method "Developing Warmblood Athletes in the Mind & the Body"®. Horses in this program benefit from a rock-solid classical dressage foundation developed in conjunction with effective conditioning in our combined training fields, over gymnastic grids and on mountain trails. Each Young Horse is appropriately challenged, encouraged to express a playful nature and receives ample encouragement, love and attention. The result is a happy, physically fit dressage athlete who demonstrates the passion to achieve his/her career potential. Several HVH young horses have qualified for Young Horse National Championships, USDF Regional Championships and US Dressage Final Championship.
Job Description
The Working Couple would ideally have one individual skilled as an Apprentice Young Horse Trainer and the other person skilled in equine care / stable care / property maintenance. The positions includes shared responsibility for the care and training of Young Horses (ages foal – 8 years) in the areas of ground training, introduction to under saddle work, foundation/fitness training and free jumping. The Apprentice should have current expertise in either ground work (lunging / long lining) or foundation training under saddle. Preferably dressage experience up to 1st level, but we can also train western and hunter riders. Dedication to quality horse care, a compassionate training approach, excellent work ethic and track record of harmonious team relationship building is essential.
Job Requirements
The applicants must be 18+ years of age, physically fit, with experience working in a busy training barn providing detailed care of training and competition horses. The Young Horse Apprentice Trainer applicant must have experience establishing foundation training on young dressage Horses including experience working in some of the following areas: Groundwork, In-hand Training, Introduction to Under Saddle Work, Fitness Training, Free Jumping and/or Foundation (dressage) Training. Applicant must be motivated, dedicated, trust-worthy, hard-working, self-starting and enjoy a harmonious work relationship with horses and other facility staff members. Preferred candidate will have a solid experience and/or certification in dressage up to 1st level. Driver's license required and must have reliable transportation (for personal use). Riding video(s) and 3 references are required.

High Valley Hanoverians is located in the North GA foothills of the Appalachian Mountains (approximately 1 mile from the Appalachian Trail). The village of Suches, GA is approximately 15 miles from the quaint college town of Dahlonega GA known for its historic buildings, festivals and excellent restaurants.
