About The Facility
Denali Equine is a Vet run rehabilitation, conditioning, and care facility looking to provide the best care and physical therapy to the sport horse in order to reduce injury and improve performance. The facility is 35 acres with 9 stalls, two turnout fields, and an Equine AquaTreadmill. We usually have anywhere from 3-12 horses on the property and several clients shipping in for therapy and services throughout the week.
Job Description
The ideal individual would have a passion for enhancing equine performance with a strong background in horse care and husbandry and a desire to grow professionally. An individual with a desire to learn massage, bodywork, rehab therapies, and movement evaluations will be preferred. Ideally, our intern will grow into a full-time team member, providing their own professional services for the clients. Paid educational opportunities will be available for the right individual to continue their personal growth. However, upon completion of this internship, the intern will be well qualified for a position within a professional training barn or equine rehab facility.
Job Requirements
The intern would be responsible for but not limited to basic horse care, stall cleaning, barn/farm upkeep, veterinary assistance, assistance in working rehabs in the water treadmill/lounging/ground driving/riding. Experience with a variety of disciplines would be a bonus. Extensive mentorship will be provided in equine veterinary medicine, rehabilitation, multi-discipline training, equine fitness/conditioning, and more. The veterinary and rehab intern will participate in monthly topic rounds and be encouraged to spend time with other equine professionals
