Job Description
The Equine Specialist will oversee all aspects of the equine program at our on-site horse barn. They will create and implement an equine program that offers campers (ages 8-16) opportunities to explore, learn about, and appreciate activities with horses, including but not limited to: grooming, beginner riding instruction, and group riding sessions. Equine Specialist will supervise a team of 1-2 counselors that assist with the program and will be responsible for the well-being and overall management of five horses. As a specialist-level role, this person will also have some supervisory responsibilities at camp, which include leading all-camp activities and events and assisting with supervision of the staff and campers on some evenings.
Job Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age by June 2024
• At least two years of college, or have instructor certification from a nationally recognized organization or
riding school, or documented endorsements of successful experience in formal horseback riding instruction.
•Must have at least 3 months of management or supervisory experience at a horseback riding facility

Located in beautiful Upstate New York, Camp Fiver is a four-hour trip from New York City and is 45 minutes southeast of Syracuse. Camp Fiver’s 129-acre refuge includes a lake, a river, woodlands, a learning center, dining hall, horse barn and more.
Room and board dependent on availability and if candidate does not live locally.
