About The Facility
Barn/Pasture inside state park (14,000 acres). We house 23 horses at the park. Main farm is 50 miles away with several horses there to haul back and forth on occasion. We have approximately 70 horses total. We take excellent care of the stock and require a more natural approach to training/handling of the horses. Our working stock is all very well trained (mostly former show and polo horses). We always have a few horses in training.
Job Description
Complete care/feeding of horses, cleaning stalls daily, saddling horses, guide customers on trail rides, retraining some riding horses for trail, mowing property, keeping trash picked up, cleaning horse trailers daily, maintaining a neat and clean area. Helping with veterinary care.
Also assisting with resort rental home (checking folks in/checking them out and light maintenance) Must be able to switch priorities easily and get along with others well.
Job Requirements
Candidate must be very experienced riding and handling horses, and excellent with customers. Guided trail riding experience preferred. Must have valid drivers license. Must pass a background check. Must weigh less than 200 pounds for riding. Must be able to lift a bale of hay or a bag of feed and saddle several horses daily. Should be able to operate basic farm equipment and repair fences if needed.
