This private stable spends their summer months in Chicago IL, and their winter months in Wellington FL. They own both facilities making it a peaceful, and private environment year-round. Their farm in Wellington is well equipped with a beautiful barn, a stunning covered arena, individual paddocks, and private apartments for staff. To say their Chicago farm is State of the Art would be an understatement. It boasts a one-of-a-kind barn that is connected to the indoor, pastures, and private accommodation for staff. Generally, these facilities are home to 8 horses, 3 UL competition horses, 3 semi-retired, one fully retired, and one that is heading to Europe. This facility is well staffed with a manager, three grooms and is searching for an additional long-term member of their team!
This facility is seeking a passionate individual that has experience with Upper-level horses. In a perfect world this candidate would have experience grooming at high level shows and be familiar with FEI rules, regulations, and competitions. This team values responsibility and finding the right fit above all else, and therefore would be happy to teach the less experienced individual. This person would be responsible for grooming, tacking, bathing, packing for shows, and all care needs pertaining to the horses. This candidate would be working alongside 3 other grooms but should be able to work well individually. While said candidate would not generally being doing “dirty work” as they have guys who do stalls, they should however be willing to pitch in when needed. Ideally, this individual will have experience handling hotter horses, as dressage horses can occasionally be "up". This person would be accompanying the owner to shows (generally 1-2/month) and hopefully international in the future. This individual needs to be a US citizen and have or be able to get a passport. They are looking to find a dedicated, passionate individual who always wants to put the horses first.
• Have experience handling upper level horses
• Have a desire to groom at high level competition
• Have or be able to obtain a US Passport
• Work well as a team player
*Not Required but would be a plus*
• Braid/Clip
• Shots IM/IV
• Pull Trailer
They are offering a salary of $1,000/week (flexible depending on experience), Private housing, a 5 1/2-day work week, full benefits if desired, and PTO/Vacation time. They unfortunately cannot accommodate a horse, however well-behave dogs are more than welcome as long as they are friendly and get along well with the owner's, and employee's dogs!
Both locations offer -private 1-bedroom 1-bathroom accommodations with outdoor space, full kitchen and living area. All apartments are newly updated and maintained. The owners live onsite, and like to keep the farm peaceful, quiet and private they are needing a candidate that is respectful and not a partier.
