We are looking for an exceptional, experienced, Ranch Operations Manager for a thriving, busy, full-service equestrian center located in Castle Rock, Colorado. Bell Mountain Ranch Equestrian Center (BMREC), is a state-of-the-art, technology-driven, equestrian ranch, with a pioneering approach to horse care for the 21st century.
Customers and communication are the forefront of our purpose. We focus on personal leadership development within our talented operations team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with computer operating systems, spreadsheet creation and analysis, Customer Relationship Management software, and cam learn new technology specific for this job. He or she will be working with other companies and community members regularly through ongoing coordination. This person will also be responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with employees, customers, vendors, contractors, and community stakeholders.
Manage, oversee and execute daily feeding of all horses.
Oversight of all daily cleaning of all pens. This includes hands on with feeding, mucking and turn out of horses
Haul hay and other supplies for the ranch. Must be able to lift 50lbs.repeatedly
Equine Husbandry. You must be able to identify sick or injured horses—the ability to perform minor veterinarian tasks, bandaging, administering medications, wormers, and vaccinations.
Collaborate with ranch owners and management on budgeting for facilities needs
Hire, train, and schedule employees
Order supplies, equipment, and feed.
Manage and plan rotational grazing for pastures
Perform fencing maintenance
Ability to operate and maintain equipment (tractor, gator, skid steer)
Create schedules of daily turn-outs
Maintain relationships with suppliers
Forecast hay and other supplies needed
The Ranch Manager MUST live on site, be a non-smoker, be clean and able to help maintain our family-friendly atmosphere. This is a long-term, full time position. Horse knowledge and experience is required, and business management experience is strongly preferred. Pasture and land management knowledge and skill is an advantage.
