About The Facility
A picturesque and historic school in the Boston area, this position offers a beautiful facility and fantastic group of individuals to work with! Focusing primarily on the H/J industry, this school has around 45-48 horses on site all year round. This facility boasts 2 spacious fully enclosed indoor arenas with lighting and mirrors, and one oversized outdoor arena for summer activities. With indoor, heated wash stalls and feed rooms, and a spacious barn that seals up well, the facility is nicely equipped to keep staff, students, and horses comfortable in the MA winters.
Job Description
This facility is seeking a full time Barn Staff employee to assist in their daily needs. With 4 full time staff members, and a stall service which comes Tues-Sunday, the workload is extremely reasonable. The ideal person for this role is knowledgable about horses, organized, and personable for student and staff interactions. This position is highly structured and organized, so staff will never be wondering what to do or when. This facility sends horses to FL over the winter, and does several 2 week series during the summer, allowing the home staff a chance to breathe.
Job Requirements
This position is a 5 day, Sunday-Thursday schedule. One hour is allowed for lunch daily if desired. Employees are welcome in the dining hall if desired. The general duties of this role are:
- Feeding
- Rotating turnout
- Sweeping the Barn Aisle
- Picking stalls in the afternoon
- Filling and cleaning water buckets
- Assisting with projects as needed
- Friendly direction/help of students in the afternoons
- Following the Chore Chart for daily tasks
This position pays between $18-20/hr depending on the experience level of the individual applying. This position offers full school system benefits:
