Wasatch Lusitanos is located on a beautiful 500-acre farm about one hour south of Nashville in the small town of Petersburg. The location is home to both breeding and early training operations of our Lusitano horses.
The position will include stall cleaning, general maintenance, feeding and observation of horses.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in similar work.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with horse management including stall cleaning, feeding, care, and grooming.
- Ability to manage barn and stall cleaning responsibility for 10 plus horses daily.
- Experience operating and servicing farm equipment.
- Confidence in working with horses, including young horses and stallions.
- Knowledge and skill grooming and preparing horses for work.
- Knowledge and experience with basic medical care of horses, including wound care.
- A kind and patient approach to working with horses.
- Detail oriented and reliable
- Flexibility and adaptability, as the needs on the farm are always changing.
- Basic farrier skills including trimming is a plus.
- Desire to work as part of a team, including teaching others, learning from others, and communicating with the team.
- The opportunity to work with a team creating international-quality horses for dressage.
