About The Facility
Cedarhill Farm is a large riding - lesson and show facility, on 40 acres with three rings and 49 stalls. The remaining 20 horses live in outside sheds. We attend approximately 25 shows, mostly A or A Hunter/Jumper shows per year with an average of 8 riders per show. Our large lesson program grows our students and boarders. We have approximately 25 boarders and full leasers, 125 students without their own horse that ride, weekly or semi weekly, an IEA Team with about 45 members and we breed a few horses on the side.
Job Description
Cedarhill is in need of a Barn manager that can work closely with our vets, and blacksmiths, keep up with the deworming, and monitor /supervise and also care for the horses. We also need our Barn Manger to be able to return inquiries regarding riding lessons, give barn tours to prospective students, and teach the beginner riders. Duties also include administering medications as prescribed by the vet, shipping horses as needed, laser and pulse treatments, and running Cedarhill's IEA team. Riding our young horses after they have been started and schooling our school horses and project horses is not an absolute requirement but is preferable.
Job Requirements
Formal education is not required but a well spoken, professional manner when answering questions on the phone and emails, and speaking to parents is required. Must be dedicated to the well being of the horse, with attention to detail, The right way is not always the short way, nonetheless , efficiency is important. Strong work ethic, with a good sense of humor and a positive attitude is important when working with our riders. Must be athletic, able to handle the occasional unruly horse, and not squeamish- getting a bit dirty on the job is expected. We work as a team, we present ourselves as a team and so we looking for a team player.
Benefits
$400/ weekly base salary plus 15% of all billable services; Lessons, trailering, lasering, pulsing, coaching etc. $400/monthly for health insurance $90/month for cell phone $250/day for IEA Coaching (plus 15% of coach fees) A yearly bonus for a job well done/prosperous year is also customary.
Description of Housing Provided
At this point we do not have any housing however we might be able to secure a modular home on our farm or the use of our barn apartment to the right person.
