Cambria Stables is an active hunter/jumper facility specializing in hunter/jumpers. We offer year round lessons, leasing/sales, training, kids camp, and showing. We are a friendly, low key barn, and our employees are very important to us.
We are currently looking for a morning employee who can primarily clean stalls and feed/turn out of approximately 18 horses. Stalls would need to be cleaned and bedded, hay and water in each stall replenished. Horses would have to be fed their morning grain/supplements, halters and fly gear or blankets put on, and turned out. Outdoor water thoughs need to be cleaned and refilled. In the winter, fields hayed. Barn will also need to be swept up and general areas cleaned. This is a Monday- Friday position, but do have some weekend work as well if interested. The hours are flexible, you can start between 6am-9am and the work is about 4-5 hours to complete the above tasks. Closer to 5 hours in winter
Employee MUST be reliable, and able to work scheduled shifts. Must have reliable transportation, and be able to get to the barn in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and physically able to clean 18 stalls a day. Must have horse handling experience, would also prefer if you have prior horse care and stall cleaning experience. Must be knowledgeable about horse health and be able to identify a sick horse, should be able to give oral medications, a bonus if you can give injections. Would like employee be motivated to do the work, and enjoy caring for horses. Candidate must be 18 years or older
Generous hourly salary for the right person. Also other paid opportunities for the interested individual such as lesson assistant, grooming, and helping with our summer camps.
