About The Facility
Private farm in New Jersey looking for a barn help/manager for our Hunter/Jumper Farm.
Job Description
This is a solo- full-time position, 5-6 days a week. We are a small but High-end hunter/jumper farm with show horses. We are looking for an independent person and someone who is willing to learn the ways of our farm. This position would be responsible for about 15 horses at home. Duties included but not limited to: Feeding, Cleaning stalls, General Barn Chores, Barn cleaning, Turn Out, Blanketing, Grooming, Lunging, Holding for vet/farrier, Administration meds, Wrapping legs, Ring preparation (Driving a small tractor), Jump Course Setting, tack cleaning, help packing for shows, and assisting in tacking and untacking. The main barn which is heated has 12 stalls and the rest of the horses are retired or babies that mostly live outside. The farm is run by one person for the horses (this position) and two maintenance staff for the grounds. The farm is mostly very quiet during the day as most of the riding is done in the evenings. Being organized and a detailed person is key to success in this position. After the training period is over we are looking for someone that knows the routine, knows what needs to be done, and takes it upon themselves to ensure the barn and horses are in top shape. Having experience with show horses is a must. Being able to drive a truck and trailer and body clipping is a plus but not required.
What we are offering: Living accommodations on the farm, Dry Stall, Riding Opportunities, Showing Opportunities, Training/lessons. Riding is not required. One weekend day off per week and one weekend off per month. Two weeks paid vacation.

Please reach out to me should you be interested in the position.
