This approximately 400 acre thoroughbred breeding farm is celebrating 50 years in business this year. We currently have four stallions and typically foal around 100 babies each season. We raise the foals to yearling age and then they depart the farm for breaking and training in southern states.
We are seeking a responsible individual with experience caring for mares and foals.
Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to daily watering and feeding horses, stall cleaning, water tub cleaning, distributing hay, evening/night watch during foaling season, minor wound/eye/health care, assisting the veterinarian, vaccination administration, ability to lift ~50 lbs. Attention to detail is important when caring for the mares and foals - noting conditions that may be hazardous to the horses, noting when a horse is acting off or when a mare might be about to foal. We prioritize health and safety.
Employer contributes to health insurance after training period. Annual holiday bonus. Ability to earning sick/vacation time. Double pay for time worked on five holidays.
On-site housing is available if needed. There is no smoking allowed inside any of the barns or other farm buildings.
