About The Facility
Rosemary Farm Sanctuary, Inc, is a registered 501(c)(3) charity that rescues horses in dire need, and protects them for life. This is provided either with a strict adoption contract or with actual care here at our facility. We are located on a 100 acre plus historic farm in Delaware County, and are currently providing sanctuary for 80+ horses on our mountain home. We have a diverse population of breeds and medical needs and training needs that we manage daily. Some will be prepared for adoption, others will remain with us for life. Our care focuses on comprehensive rehabilitation of each horse, to restore it to its full health and potential as much as possible. To this end, we use a wide combination of care, including large herd groups and fields for those able, as well as private paddocks for those who need more care, and state of the art medical evaluation and care in partnership with several leading regional veterinarian practices. Our focus is to put the needs of the horse first, and is a unique workplace for many of these reasons.

• Rosemary Farm is a Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) accredited facility.
• Since its inception, Rosemary Farm has helped over 220 equines.
• Many of our horses, for physical and behavioral reasons, are with us for life; others are rehabbed and trained by our on-staff trainer to prepare for adoption.
• We work extensively with Rhinebeck Equine LLP (https://rhinebeckequine.com) and Cornell University’s veterinary program to provide comprehensive medical care, including cutting edge surgical options for horses with severe issues.
• We have a growing staff of two full and four part time employees and a small group of regular weekly volunteers.
• We have a large supporter/individual donor base, with over 330,000 followers on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/RosemaryFarm/
• We have been featured on National Geographic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7W2v193I7dI
• We have been featured on I LOVE NY as part of annual campaigns to attract visitors to the Catskills region.

From our mission statement: “Working closely with our professional team of equine specialists, we make our decisions based on what is best for each horse and the sanctuary family. Our horses live in dynamic natural environments, in herd groups, creating vital bonds that are honored and protected. We educate horse owners and the general public about how they can improve both the physical and emotional guardianship of horses."
